Biography

After studying Anthropology at the RU Nijmegen I visited the Visual Art Academy of Utrecht. During my final year I was mainly inspired by the classical mythology. Hence working on some themes with silk I discovered it became my favorite material. Ever since I have been painting on silk, making paintings but also applied artworks like scarves and ties. In 2008 I started experimenting with other materials in combination with silk like wool, felt and velvet. This inspired my very much and I am proud of the results. Besides silk I nowadays also work with acrylic paint on canvas. My work has been shown at:

  • Fashion fairs, a.o. in Amsterdam (Modam), Antwerpen (Textirama);
  • In galleries a.o. in Lunteren (Aan de Kippenlijn), Groningen (Holland Casino), Florida (Scott Laurent Galleries), Zwolle (Stedelijk Museum, Open University), Heerlen (Open University), Nijmegen (Piet Hoefsloot Wonen), Delft (Willy Pennings), Frankfurt (D) (Katzenmuseum), Tilburg (Textielmuseum).
  • In publications like Textilia, Viva, Man, Mannenmode, Bruid en Bruidegom, Textiel Plus, Tele-PC,  Moondance, Mundicat Magazine.

I have been working for companies and private customers in the Netherlands and abroad.
